American Legion Post 1738 presented the colors at the opening ceremony for the West Islip Little League held on April 19th.

The St. Patrick's day party on March 14th was a huge success with over 80 people in attendance. We had live Irish music presented by Bob who also played guitar during the first hours while dinner was being served. He then became our DJ and played dance music for the remainder of the night. A VSO meeting was held at Post 1738 on March 9th with approximately 40 persons in attendance. A marathon promoting veterans' benefits was discussed by county executive Steve Bellone. The date of the marathon will be Sunday, Sept 13th, 2015 and will culminate in Heckscher State Park where festivities will be presented. PTSD was also discussed and all legionnaires are encouraged to reach out and support veterans in need of help. Posted 3/10/2015
